I took this test and the results were wrong. Acu-Gen Biolabs, the lab conducting the test, and pregnancystore.com, the marketer of the kit try to claim babies with conflicting genders have genetic defects that's why their results conflict. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I finally received a refund from them, but never an apology. I hope this product is off the market soon. Considering how emotional of an experience pregnancy is, women don't need to be given the wrong gender or, even worse, be told that something could be wrong with their babies.

Don't waste your money on this. Not only are they wrong about the gender of the baby quite often, they diagnos unborn babies via telephone calls to the Mother..( but yet won't share their findings with the woman's physicians, to be verified.)
We've placed a complaint to the BBB, FTC, Illinois State's Attorney's office, Mass. State's Attorney's office, etc.
Their Ad is very misleading..... They apparently aren't just checking for the "gender" of the baby.

This test is a HOAX. I took it at 6 weeks pregnant and was told that 99.9% I was having a boy. I prepared myself and my family for our little guy. When I had my 20 week ultrasound I was told I was having a girl. It took 5 different techs and 3 ultrasounds for me to believe them, as I had faith in the BGM test. After all 99.9% can't be wrong, or so I thought. I plan on waiting until my little girl is born, and sending in my birth certificate for my 250% refund! That is if they don't claim something obscure, like a vanishing twin or something, like they have been doing VERY often. I was financially, and emotionally scarred from this, and I hope this product is pulled from the market. They are preying on women who just want to jnow the gender of their babies! DON'T BOTHER WIth this test!

I just wanted to let you all know that after recieving 3 different results from Acu-Gen I requested a refund. I only asked for the $275 that I paid for the test. I mean, how do they know for sure what my baby is after giving me so many conflicting results. I was told girl, then twins a boy and a girl and now a boy. I was told to refer back to the guarantee on the web site. They must be out of their minds if they think I am going to send them a blood sample of my child. At this point I don't even know which result I can argue. I mean if my baby is a girl, well they did tell me at one point I would hve a girl. If it's a boy, well they did tell me at one time it was going to be a boy. What a scam! I am glad that the money is not a big deal to us, but if it was I would be extremely mad. Right now I'm just kicking myself for being so overly anxious to find out. I have an ultrasound on Feb 4th, I'll let you know what they see if anything, I will be 17 weeks at that point so from what I understand it's pretty up in the air as to whether or not they will see anything that early. This site is great, what a nice way to vent! To be honest I am not mad, this is our first baby we want a boy and a girl so either one is great. I'm just mad that I paid for someone to confuse me even more! Thanks for listening, take care and I will let you know something when I do.

They admitted on the phone that they have been getting several complaints over the phone that they have been wrong about the baby's gender of their customers. They guy who answered the phone was all flustered and said he will give the message to Mr. Wang, but there is no guarentee that he will ever call back. Can someone please send me a copy of the refund policy before they changed it?? Thanks!

hope this isn't a duplicate...I thought I posted something but don't see it.  Anyway, it's been a while since I've written.  I've been pretty busy with our new baby girl.  For those that don't know, Acugen said I was having a boy and I had my little girl 11/8.  Anyway, I called Acugen after her birth to confirm what I needed to do to get my refund.  I sent them an original birth certificate (I got 3 copies from the state) just like they said (they also stammered on the phone trying to come up with a reason they were wrong).  Well, today I get a letter from them stating they need two more things to process my refund:  1.  a certified copy of the birth certificate with my address on it (it had to be the same as the address they sent the kit to) and 2.  a sample of my baby's blood ("to confirm kinship").  They said I could call the hospital to get it (yeah, right) or they could send me a heel stick kit.

I too am skeptical about this test and very confused at the moment.  I took the test at the beginning of my pregnancy and it came back a girl.  I had a 21 week ultrasound last week and they were 102% that I was having a boy.  I was in shock!  I contacted Accu-Gen Lab and they told me that they would re-test original sample...again a girl.  As of now they are sending me a new test to take and I even scheduled a 4D Ultrasound and the end of January.  How confusing.  I too wish I had never taken this test.  I personnally don't trust this companies accuracy.  I couldn't believe the results of the other women that have taken this either.  What a shame.

The following is allegedly a response from Dr. Wang to one woman's complaints.

This is a message I got from Mr. Wang:

If you'd like to trust ultrasound result, no one will stop you.  If you
want to read blogger's moaning, it is your choice.
Just give me one name who received our refund with legitimate gender
discrepancy at birth. Or it is due to your imagination.
You have no idea what is the science behind this!!  Does that occur to
you why you belong to the 0.1%?
